In celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday the kid's school does a Vocabulary day where they pick a word and design a costume to represent it. Kinda like Halloween but less commercial. This year Lucy and Andrew participated. Zane opted out. He said he feels too silly to dress up in a costume. Whatever. Anyway Lucy wanted to participate and Andrew had too, it was an assignment for his class. Lucy went as 'fancy' and Andrew was 'tornado.' Andrew had to pick a word with three syllables to make a costume out of. It is a cute and fun way to encourage reading. And it gives the kids a chance to dress up other than Halloween.
