Andrew the Muscle Man

My Andrew is ready for his career as Mr. Universe! He loves to show people his muscles! Maybe when he gets a little bit older and has a bit more meat on his skinny little bones it will be more impressive. As for now I will have to live with my skinny muscle man!

Andrew showing his biceps and a bit of the triceps.

The classic muscle man pose!

Our House

The boys are loving thier new house. I just took this picture so you would have an idea what our front porch looks like. Oh yeah, it was a good excuse to show off my kids too! Hope you like it!

Four More to Go!

I was peeking in Zane's mouth today (a dangerous task no matter what the occasion!) and I noticed that his last eye tooth has popped through! Yeah! Now I only have to keep an eye out for his 2 year molars and then my responsibility to his baby book will be done! (except for those pesky things like birthday's and the first day of school) I have tried so hard to keep up with all the little milestones but I know that I have failed miserably on some of them. For instance, the item "sat up unassisted" when do I mark that? The day that I put him down and he stays upright for 1 second before toppling over onto his face and sobbing uncontrollably for 10 minutes; or do I document the first time that I put him down sitting up and have time to dash into the next room to grab something and come back and see him happily, if not wobbily, still in an upright position. The latter being a much more momentous occasion in my opinion! I am sure that to some the answer was clear, but to me and my need to fill out the book correctly, it is not. Oh the trials of motherhood!

A little warning works!

Apparently all Andrew needs to calmly and easily get a shot is a little warning that it is going to happen. We had to go today to get his second Hep A shot and he was soooooo good and brave! We made the appointment last week and since then we have been counting down. He sat on my lap today and just took the shot and didn't even cry. That was a major improvement from the last shot he got. Last time he kicked, screamed and basically threw a total tantrum. What a difference some warning makes! I didn't know he was going to get a shot last time though so it came as a surprise to all of us. I guess he just needs a little bit of time to get used to the idea and then he "man's up" and takes it! Yeah! Only the Kindergarten shots are left and we have a year and a half before that is going to happen.

Getting too big!

It suddenly hit me yesterday that my boys are getting big and are not quite babies anymore. I was snuggling with Andrew on the couch with him sitting on my lap and I fully realized how big he really is. He had to curl up his legs and round out his back to snuggle up. That is not fair!!!! It seems like just two days ago that he was tiny enough for me to snuggle in one arm! I also came to the realization that we became pregnant with Zane when Andrew was Zane's age! AHHHHHH!!!!! I think I am starting to get baby hungry again! They are so sweet and they grow so fast. Next thing you know Andrew will be patting me on the head and thinking it is so cool that he is bigger than me. I am pretty sure that he is going to be tall too. We compared his heighth with my brothers at age 4 (Andrew is still 3 and a half) and Andrew is already an inch taller than my brother was at that age. Reece is 6' 3"!!!! What am I going to do with my tall boy? I think that there should be a law and way that we can shrink them back down to thier tiny snuggly size whenever we need to have out little one back. Then maybe the growing up process wouldn't be so hard for me! I guess that pictures will have to do to help me remember the time when they were small!

Back Yard Bliss

There is something wonderful about having a fenced back yard. I have been longing for one since Andrew was little and it is even more important now that my attention is divided with Zane. The boys love thier back yard and I love it that Andrew can go out and play in it by himself. (Granted it only lasts for about 15 minutes, but they are 15 minutes of bliss) I am very excited to get a swing set for the boys to play on. Now that tax time has come we have a little bit from the refund available for just that purpose. The hard part will be putting it together since it will come in pieces. Eric usually depends on my help for direction reading and I have been know to mess up the directions upon occasion. Oh well! The boys will be sooooooo excited when it comes and I will be thrilled that they have one more thing to do in thier fenced back yard!

Andrew the Brave

What is the last thing you would expect a three and a half year old to do? Jump off the diving board cross your mind at all? Because that is what my Andrew did at his last swimming lesson this session. Not only did my boy jump off but he went first! I do not know where he got that type of bravery from. Certainly not his mom who gets shaky kneed at jumping off a kitchen chair!!! Maybe from Eric I suppose. He is inclined to want to jump off incredibly high things for no reason at all! Maybe Andrew is a Olympic High diver in the making... maybe not, maybe he is just braver than most!
