Aloha Carnival

It was Carnival day! We released Andrew and Zane and Lucy with their tickets and I took Gwen with me to do some activities.

She tackled the obstacle course, NAILED IT.

Ollie got a dum-dum and LOVED it. Andrew was very selective with his activities. After 30 minutes he had still only used two tickets!

He was too busy doing 'no ticket' activities like Cookie Face. Reid rocked the Ring Toss game! He was very into all the games.

Lucy used up her tickets quick as a flash. It is so amusing to me to see the different styles of spending my kids have. Zane and Lucy binge and then are done. Andrew and Gwen shop around. Different personality profiles for sure.

Ollie just had fun watching all the fun. My guess is that next year he will want to participate in some stuff for sure.

Gwen even tackled the rock climbing wall. Lucy did too apparently but I missed it completely. Gwen was very tentative right at first but she is one seriously determined little girl and ended up climbing to the very top!

She even figured out how to bounce down like a frog. Watch out world! This little girl is going to do anything she sets her mind too. The stubbornness level is off the charts!

Gwen and I also won door prizes of free smoothies from the coach house. She got raspberry and I got strawberry. We were feeling quite spoiled by the end!

S'Mores Night!

Wednesdays are always super busy days for us at Family Camp. First we go on an adventure of some variety and then there are always s'mores on Wednesday night. It just is the night they do them.

Have I mentioned the kids love s'mores? Even Reid got in on the action. He got a special s'more. Two marshmallows in between two pieces of chocolate. Nothing to hate there!

 Tired but happy, happy faces!

Gwen forgot to be smiling for her pictures so Andrew reminded her mouth how to make a smile.

And now it really, REALLY is time for bed!

Finally the Beach

The kids were thrilled to finally hit the beach! It took a little bit of effort to set up our sun shade in the stiff breeze but after that the kids were off like rockets to cross the creek and play on the far bank.

Ollie was enthralled with the sand again. After his short nap on my back, it was not surprising that he stuck pretty close to me most of the afternoon.

The rest of the crew played in the sand, built stuff and managed to get themselves completely covered in sand multiple times.

Reid was very determined to keep up with the big kids. Fortunately the tide was out for the majority of the time we were playing so it was easy for him to cross back and forth. He usually insisted on Daddy's help though.

Lucy loves to roll in the sand. She is completely oblivious to the fact that it is gritty and everywhere. She is a girl who certainly knows how to live in the moment!

Ollie found the tent stakes for our shelter to be the most fun to play with. Whatever works to keep the baby occupied and happy!

Andrew buried himself in the sand. He was cool with getting his picture taken as long as no one had made him look like a mermaid or anything.

Eric took Ollie across with the big kids at the very, very end of our adventure but he was very done by then and pretty much screamed the whole time. Oh well. There are many years for him to try and keep up with all the big kids. I will take the small amount of time he just wants to hang with mom.

We finished the day sun soaked and very, very tired. It will be an easy bedtime for all little people tonight!
