A Thursday Adventure at Deception Pass

Today's we decided to brave the weather and head to Deception Pass State Park for a picnic lunch and time on the beach.

We shared some lunch with a nice and friendly chipmunk. He was willing to come very close to the kids and get an almond.

Lucy was the first to spot him and was a little scared of him but that soon gave way to a big smile that he was coming so close.

Reid was absolutely fascinated with all the rocks just laying around. He wanted to pick them all up and hand them to grandma.

And then he discovered that the rocks could be thrown into the water. I don't know that his life will ever be the same again.

It was not terribly warm at the beach today but that did not stop the kids from wanting to play in the water. Gwen seemed to think that her pants were like a swimsuit because every time I turned around she was in up to her ankles at least.

A boat went by and created some pretty decent waves. The boys were thrilled with all the chop. We even saw a seal peek his head up after a boat went by!

Once everyone got all tired out we packed up and headed home. I think it would be so fun to go camping at Deception Pass. I don't know if we could convince Eric though...
