We celebrated Andrew's birthday quietly yesterday. A simple dinner of ravioli's with cupcakes for dessert. It was very mellow and nice.
As one of Andrew's birthday presents we gave him a book light. We decided to let him stay up a bit later and read at night now that he is 8. I know a lot of kids stay up later than that right now but at our house bedtime is 8 pm. However, I also know that I was really ticked that my parents let my younger brother and I have the exact same bedtime even when it got moved later. It wasn't fair then and I am trying to avoid that. It's funny how those things stick in your mind, huh?
